Opposing Forces

Opposing Forces is a teaser for an episode of The Moth that explores personal growth during life-or-death circumstances. The main title centers on the moment Martha realizes that, despite their differences, people share the same vulnerability when confronted with war.

Symbolic Visual Approach
 The rifle serves as a symbol of violence and the fragility of life, while the morning glory represents resilience and the human desire to preserve beauty. These contrasting symbols highlight Martha’s discovery of hope and the preciousness of life even in the harshest conditions.

Style Experiments
I explored different styles of illustrations (line drawing and lineless, risograph style), slogans, layouts, and compositions to enhance the storytelling of the sequence.
