Key Challenge
The main challenge was conveying the emotional contrast between the awe-inspiring beauty of coral reefs and the urgency of their rapid decline in a way that felt impactful rather than purely informational.
Environment & Lighting
To express this contrast visually, I designed a dreamlike reef environment that gradually fades toward lifelessness. Rich, saturated colors and soft lighting emphasize the liveliness of the healthy reef, while desaturated tones and flattened light communicate its withering state.
